Starlight Classique
2000 Arabian/Iberian Warmblood mare
UPDATE: Star and I win at Training level!

I took Star to the Foothills Chapter schooling show on June 24th, and we had a really great time. We got a 60.4% and 3rd place on T2, and a 64.8% and 1st place on T4. On T4, we even got an "8" on our half circle back to X before halting. The two righthand pictures above are from the show, taken by Lori Green.

Star and I will be clinicing with Mike Osinski June 29th, and Rudolf Rostek July 12-16th. Then, we plan on a rated dressage show at Starr Vaughn in August, as well as Arabian Sport Horse Regionals, which Star and I qualified for in May.

I am really enjoying this mare, and I am really looking forward to the end of this show season and next year. I hope to be showing her at First level soon, with solid scores to qualify me for my Bronze medal. Right now we are working on solidifying her dressage basics: straightness, true bend, responsiveness to the aids, throughness, and rhythm.

Please excuse the poor quality pics, as these are just video stills from a clinic with Anna Gilmour on Sept 10-11, 2005. I took Star on both days and we made lots of progress even in that short amount of time. Star was a very good girl and we had lots of fun learning from Anna. Anna was an assistant trainer to Hilda Gurney for 4 years, has ridden through Prix St Georges, and is an L program participant. She has a fun approach to Dressage and her enthusiasm makes for a fun lesson.
