Savannah Friesian/Arab/QH 2004 filly

Savvy is definitely in the gangly two year old stage, with big long legs and a lanky body! She is still her incredibly sweet self, and is enjoying life growing up in the pasture with her buddies. I really found a gem with this little filly, and I can't wait to see how she is under saddle next summer when she turns 3!

Savvy's first encounter with the dressage saddle, enjoying a few moments of sunshine in the pasture this spring, and playing in the roundpen...

Savvy will turn 2 yrs old on July 6th, and she is growing fast. She is almost bigger than Star and I assume she'll be taller than Krosby and Star by the time fall rolls around. She is learning how to lunge, walk with the saddle one, and will start ground driving in the next week when I am done with school for the summer. To say that I love this little girl would be a HUGE understatement- I'm not quite sure there is a phrase that could truly describe my feelings! Savvy is just so fun to be around, and our daily adventures have made the past 21 months fly by. My baby is growing up into a beautiful filly, and she knows it of course- let me assure you that this one has no self esteem issues! Savvy has a spark about her that just makes her so special. She is so incredibly loving, and it is so obvious that she enjoys her life. Everyone else seems to love her too, as she captured the hearts of many at this years Horse Expo in June. She was well behaved and took everything in stride like a pro. She even allowed several sets of kids to take pictures and pet her while she laid in her stall.  Savvy is quite the talker, and alway has something to say when I walk down to the barn. I'm just enamored with this little one, and we've already developed quite a bond. She runs to the up to greet me, and loves to give hugs. I have many shirts with permanent "Savvy stains" on the shoulders... I have high hopes for this little lady, and if her movement now is any indication, we're sure to find success in the dressage court! For now, it's the patient wait until summer of 2007...and LOTS of camera sessions!

At right, Karmen and Savannah at the 2005 Western States Horse Expo. Savvy acted like and old horse show pro, always taking time for her naps each day. She loved the attention and was perfectly behaved for the entire event! (Duh, there was food there!) Above is an older pic of me with Savvy as a 2 month old.
