Karmen began riding at the age of 7, and has been a dedicated horsewoman ever since. While starting her career in jumping, Karmen’s true love is dressage.
Dedicated to her education in the sport, Karmen has worked with many talented riders and trainers such as:
- Hilda Gurney, U.S. Olympian, USEF “S” Judge, and FEI “I” Judge
- Rudolf Rostek, Bereiter of Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria
- Mike Osinski, USEF “R” Judge and FEI rider
- Kristina Harrison, U.S. Pan Am Team Gold Medalist
Karmen is a recent UC Davis graduate with a BA in Anthropology, and is currently researching potential Masters programs with which to continue her academic education.
Due to her combined efforts in both her academic and equestrian endeavors, Karmen approaches her dressage training with a well rounded viewpoint and background.
Karmen is the resident trainer at Symphony Farms, breeders of Spanish horses for dressage. Symphony Farms owns Rociero XV, the highest ranked PRE horse in the country, and a recent competitor at the US Olympic trials with Kristina Harrison. Karmen trains and shows their up and coming PRE stallions.
